Induction and Orientation 2017-18


Smt. Kashibai Navale College of Pharmacy, Pune organized Induction Programme for F. Y. B. Pharm students.

Sinhgad Technical Education Society s Smt. Kashibai Navale College of Pharmacy (SKNCOP), Kondhwa Pune 411048, Maharashtra organized Induction Programme for newly admitted First Year B. Pharm students on August 10, 2017 at 10.00 am. Dr. S. D. Sawant, Principal of the college welcomed the chief guest & participants. All students were provided with Induction Kit including the academic calendar. More than 90 students, their parents & faculty members participated programme.

Principal of the college, Chief guest- Dr. Himadri Sen, Member, Board of Director, Strategy and Scientific Affairs Chairman Steer life , Mumbai, Ex-President R & D (Generics, NDDS) & Global Quality Ranbaxy Labs., India, Ex-President, Lupin Ltd., Pune, inaugurated the event.

Dr. Himadri Sen, in his motivational talk explained the importance of the profession and addressed the students for their career path ahead with a focus on Entrepreneurship development. The session was followed by information and interactive talk of Principal Dr. S. D. Sawant, he guided the newly admitted students on Scope and potential of Pharmacy Profession. Prof. S. N. Nawale, Vice president (Emeritus) was present a guest of honour. Second half started with informative talk by Dr. M. P. Mahajan, Professor, SKNCOP explained about the Course Structure and Examination Pattern. Ms. Manjusha Dole, Asst. Prof. SKNCOP guided the students on various Study methodology techniques. Dr. (Mrs.) J. R. Madan, Training & Placement officer of college explained about various activities of Training & placement. She focused on skills required for overall grooming of students to improve the employability of candidate for pharmaceutical industry. The seminar concluded with informative presentation of Mrs. Mukta Abhyankar on various activities of the year along with the staff coordinators for the same. Ms. Manjusha Dole proposed the vote of thanks for the programme. Mrs. M. C. Singh, Asst. Prof. SKNCOP gave the closing remarks of the function.

Industrial visit

Two days industrial visit was organized by Sinhgad Technical education society s Smt. Kashibai Navale college of Pharmacy for Second year and Final year B. Pharm students .The objective of this visit was to brief them with the functioning of various departments of a pharmaceutical industry thus helping them to grow as competent professionals.

The visit started with general overview of pharmaceutical industries by HR Dept and also about company s growth and status. The students visited different department and sections of pharma industry like, Raw material storage, Manufacturing (Compression, granulation etc.), Blister and strip Packaging, finished product storage, and Ware house, Water system, Filtration system, etc. The students had carefully observed manufacturing of oral solid dosage forms. All the products were manufactured as per regulatory guidelines of USFDA , and WHO. Students were allowed to closely observe the online production of various products. Various large-scale pharm manufacturing equipment and its applications were also keenly observed by the students.

This made our students to correlate their theory with practical applications in pharm manufacturing field. This industrial visit was an added benefit wherein the students interacted with the senior researchers & got an insight of the expectations of industry from collaborative research & also understood the critical parameter to be stressed during the practical research work, to meet the requirements of industry. The aim of the two days program was to bridge the gap between academics & industry, amalgamate the two important pillars of Pharmacy profession. The success of the whole program lies in provoking the thought of industry-institute interaction & opening various avenues to the students.



24th April 2017: Farewell function


Farewell function was arranged for Final year B.Pharm and M.pharm students on 24th April 2017. Mr Karan Banthia from B.Pharm and Ms Aksa Parkar from M.Pharm were selected as the best outgoing students of year 2016-17. Faculty sponsorship was given to six students which included a cash prize of Rs 5500/- The students who received the sponsorship were 1. Ms Anuja A Pawar. (S.Y.B.Pharm) 2. Mr Shubham.S Jagtap (T.Y.B.Pharm) 3. Ms Apurva.C Gund ( F.Y.B.Pharm) 4. Mr Rohit.S Kanawade (F.Y.B.Pharm) 5. Mr Shubham.K Shete (S.Y.B.Pharm) 6. 7th September 2016: Teachers day celebration


Teachers day was celebrated in the college on 7th September 2016 by final year B.Pharm students. In the morning session the lectures and practicals of first,second and third year students were conducted by final year teachers.
Various entertainment programs were arranged for the teachers by the students in the afternoon session. The program was co-ordinated by Mrs M.M Abhyankar and Mrs P.P Lasure..

2nd September 2016: Freshers Party


Freshers party was organized by second year B.Pharm students and M.Pharm to welcome first year B.Pharm and M.Pharm students.
Mr Rohan. G. Veer and Ms Kiran.R Thorat of first year B.Pharm were selected as Mr and Ms freshers on this day. The program was co-ordinated by Mrs M.M Abhyankar and Mrs P.P Lasure.

Industrial Visits


  1. Industrial visit was organized for Second year B.Pharm students on 1 st and 2 nd Oct 2015 at Wockhardt Ltd and Adora Pharmaceuticals Ltd. Students along with faculty visited various departments such as raw material, quarantine, change rooms, production department, quality control department, packaging department etc.Visit was coordinated and facilitated by staff members Mrs.Neha M. Munot & Mr.Prashant Sarda acompanied by nonteaching staff Mr.Pandurang Nalawade.

  2. Industrial visit was organised for T.Y.B.Pharm students at Rasamrut Ayurved Pharmacy, Hadapsar on 1 st March 2016. The students visited various departments like tablet,capsule,liquid,Bhasma,Asava & Arishta where manufacturing was carried out.They also visited Nakshatra garden and Botanical garden of Sumatibhai Shah Ayurvedic Mahavidhyalaya, Hadapsar. The coordinaters of the visit were Mrs M.M Abhyankar and Mrs S.G Jagtap.

NSS CAMP


Social Activities NSS National Service Scheme
NSS Camp was organized under the NSS scheme by STES s Smt. Kashibai Navale College of Pharmacy, Kondhwa at, Bori Pardhi Choufulla Solapur District Pune from 22/1/2016 to 28/1/2015.
Various activities such as cleaning of the base camp & five temples nearby,tree plantation outside the base camp,building and repairs of dam, visit to Morya Dairy & Urja Dairy & Milk Products, Students also visited Prajakta School for mentally retarded children & assisted them in cleaning of residential premises & tree plantation.Lectures were given by Mr. Handal, Mr.Vatre & Mr. Chavhan Sir, Mr. Jayaram Supe during the camp.
The programme was concluded with the address of S. N. Navale Sir Vice President STES who addressed the students on teamwork, self-independence and importance of social work. Principal Dr. S. D. Sawant in his closing remarks emphasized on personality development of the students.Faculty member Mr. Prashant Sarda coordinated the programme.

National Pharmacy Week 2016


Pharma Ad Mad competition was organized at S.T.E.S. s Smt. Kashibai Navale of Pharmacy in association with Indian Pharmaceutical Association on 20/09/16.
The competition was inaugurated by Principal of SKNCOP, Dr. S. D. Sawant, NPW coordinator of SKNCOP , Ms. Tejinder Kaur Marwaha and two judges appointed by the IPA Pune branch Mrs. Jyoti Chaudhary ( Prof. RDCOP Pune ) AND Dr. Vaishali Undale (SGRS COP, Saswad) Total 30 teams participated in the competition. Teams were free to choose any pharmaceutical product to make a funny advertisement.

The Induction cum Orientation was held on 22 nd July 2013. The chief guest for the induction program was Dr. M. D. Bhurande, President APTI & Principal, Siddhant College of Pharmacy who spoke on Positive Attitude ,Knowledge, Hard Work and Communication Skill - Right Prescription for Success . Dr. Atul Dadhe, Chief Training Officer, ICME Trust, Pune was the key speaker for the induction programme. He spoke on entrepreneurship opportunities for pharmacy students in areas of medical coding, medical auditing. Certificates were awarded to 14 meritorious students who stood first, second & third in the B. Pharm & M. Pharm examinations 2013. Students who qualified in GPAT examination were also felicitated.The faculty members Mr. Prashant Sarda presented information to the freshly admitted students on STES Campus. Mr. Nilesh Kulkarni addressed the students on sports activities, student insurance schemes, NSS, & other schemes by University of Pune. Mr. M. P. Mahajan spoke on alumni activities & Mrs. Preeti Lasure spoke on Extracurricular & Co curricular activities. Students were also informed by Mrs. Meera Singh & by Mr. Rahul Takawale about the examination pattern, course structure and the credit & grading system for M. Pharm course.

Teachers Day was celebrated on 5th Sept 2013, the B. Pharm classes were conducted by the Final Year B. Pharm & M. Pharm Students. The afternoon session began with the felicitation of the teachers by the students. Talk was given by Dr. S. D. Sawant on the occasion of the teacher s day.

  • Pharmacy Day was celebrated at the institute on 25th Sept 2013. The celebration began by distribution of 700 Thank You Cards to various Retail Pharmacists all over the Pune city. The Chief Guest for the function was Dr. Atmaram Pawar, Vice Principal & Head Pharm. D Programme Poona College of Pharmacy. The other guests for the program were Mr. Vijay Changediya, Owner Rohit Medicals, Hadapsar and Mr. Sanjay Bothikar, Director Cure Medicines Pvt. Ltd. Certificate of Appreciation was given to Dr. Atmaram Pawar in recognition of his significant contribution & services to the Community Pharmacy and Pharmacy Practice.

52nd National Pharmacy Week was celebrated by Indian Pharmaceutical Association and Pharmacy Colleges of Pune District with the theme Pharmacists: A Healthcare Professional . As a part of the celebration Group Discussion Competition was organized at SKNCOP on 30th Nov 2013. Mr. Adwait Date (Regional Manager Global Classroom Pvt. Ltd, Director & Training Consultant Swaraaj Consultancy, Founder & Director Eureka Preschool Daycare & Activity Center) & Mrs. Renuka Nifadkar (Asst. Prof Sinhgad Institute of Business Administration & Research) were invited as judges for the competition. Students participated actively in various events during the National Pharmacy Week.

College annual cultural event PANACHE 2014 was held on 24th Jan 2014 wherein students participated in various cultural events viz. Singing, Dancing, Mr. & Ms. SKNCOP, Street Play, etc.

Students participated in intra-campus cultural festival Sinhgad Karandak-2014 NEON in various events such as Solo Singing, Duet Singing, Mr. & Ms. Sinhgad, Group Dance, Street play etc. Mr. Pratik Salve, First Year B. Pharm. won the runner up prize for Mr. Sinhgad in Mr. & Ms. Sinhgad Competition.

Voters Registration Camp was organized from 19/8/2013 to 25/8/2013 at the institute. The program was coordinated by Dr. Nilesh Kulkarni with the help of NSS volunteers & Parivartan NGO. A total of 55 voters (8 teachers & 47 students) have applied for registration for Voters ID under the voters registration drive initiated by Election Commission Office Pune.


  • Blood Donation Program was organized on 20th Sept 2013 as a part of NSS activity. Total 120 students and one faculty participated in the blood camp organized by the faculty Dr. Nilesh Kulkarni and Smt. Kashibai Navale Medical College and General Hospital.


  • NSS Camp was organized under the NSS scheme by the institute at Bhiwri, Taluka Purandar District Pune from 17 th to 23 rd Feb 2014 . Various activities such as career guidance to school students, creating awareness amongst the villagers about sanitation and hygiene, sanitation and maintenance of crematorium, street plays to fight against female foeticide were conducted during the NSS camp.
    The program concluded with the address of S. N. Navale Sir, Vice President STES who addressed the students on teamwork, self-independence and importance of social work. Principal Dr. S. D. Sawant in his closing remarks emphasized on personality development of the students. The activity was coordinated by faculty member Dr. Nilesh Kulkarni. Mrs. Kalpana Katke village Sarpanch and Gramsevak Mr. Mahendra Bengare & other villagers assisted for this camp.
