Electrical engineering is a popular branch of engineering which deals with the study and application of electricity, electronics, and electromagnetism. The subfields include Electrical Machines, Instrumentation, Power Electronics, Digital Technologies, Power Engineering, Control Systems, Switch Gear and Protection. The course mainly includes fundamentals, design, testing of electrical machines and also to develop control systems. Electrical engineers are considered to deal with the problems associated with systems such as electric power transmission and electrical machines. After completing graduation you can opt for M. Tech/MS in various specializations such Power systems, Control systems, Power Electronics & Drives.

The goal of our department is to become one of the leading electrical engineering departments in the world and to be known for research, creation of knowledge base, education, industry interaction and entrepreneurial activity.

We are focused to enrich our students with academics, industrial needs, extracurricular activities and

at the same time with life skill values. Learning is an unending process. It requires complete commitment from both – the teacher as well as student. Department’s primary objective is to ensure good academic environment for all the students. Under systematic education plan and monitoring, department is carrying out number of activities which will shape the professional career of the student as a technocrat.

The department has a team of dedicated faculty members, engaged in teaching, research and in counseling students. The department has well equipped laboratories as per norms, modern classrooms, seminar hall etc. These facilities create conducive environment for teaching learning process and act as a catalyst for quality technical education. The department has a very active students' association (EESA) which organizes various social events, talks by guest speakers and senior students, maintains a well-equipped hobby room throughout the year. We encourage students to participate in sports, curricular and extracurricular activities. Students of Electrical Engineering have contributed in winning Overall Champion ship of VISION 2014 organized by W.C.E,Sangli.
