e. Which are the covenient ways
to apply ?
The candidate is to appear for a State Level Common Entrance
Test. The admission to this Institute is on the basis of merit
to Entrance Exam and the option to be indicated as your choice.
Interested candidates are required to submit an application
on a Plain paper with their full name, address, email, contact
number with STD code and two passport size photographs along
with a DD of Rs. 450/- in favour of SIHMCT payable a Nationalised
Bank at LONAVALA in order to avail Prospectus, Application Form
and other details of the subjects offered as per University
of Pune Syllabus. The candidates are required to clearly mention

4 (Four) years Bachelors’ Degree
in Hotel Management & Catering Technology (BHMCT) Affiliated

Three-year degree courses affiliated to University of Pune,
State of Maharashtra Admissions will be granted on Institution
level Criteria. |

g. How important are entry essential
level of previous educational qualifications ?
• Candidate having passed 10 + 2 under any Medium of Instruction
from Arts, Commerce and Science is eligible to attempt Entrance
Examination to be conducted by Department of Technical Education
under Govt. of Maharashtra.
• The eligibility requirements are mentioned
under “Courses Offered”
• Post : MCVC students already specialized
in Cookery and Bakery can also be given a promising award to
join for this course.
• Post 10th / 12th Diploma holders in
Hotel Management must reappear for Entrance Examination to join
this programme.
• Certificate holders in Hotel or General
Management Related areas after 10+2 are also eligible to upgrade
themselves to Degree Level in the Institute.

h. Whether Scholarships are available
with options ?
Yes. All mandatory provisions can be granted and downloaded
by applicable candidates to endorse themselves for options under
stipulated rules of the University. However the total costs
of Books , Kits , Journals and Uniforms will be borne at sustainable
costs. |

i. What are full fees to coaching
at Degree Level ?
As scheduled under the Shikanshan Shulka Samiti the fees for
BHMCT is slated to be Rs.70,000 for the year 2006-2007. Changes
in fee structure will be effective as per declarations of Shikashan
Shulka Samiti have projected period for two financial years.
The Institute does not have branches to collect fees. All fees
are paid by way of DD only.

j. Whether there is arrangement
and provisions to stay ?
Allotment of Hostel Rooms and their amenities would be made
by The Chief Rector by way of detailing schedules of residential
stay as per AICTE. The total number of Books Kits, Journals
and Uniforms will be in partial fulfillment as per University
norms. Canteens and Laundry are also available in addition to
Boys Mess and Girls Mess.

k. What are the charges of Lodging
and Boarding for New Wards ?
The Hostel Room Rent now stands at Rs.35,250/- per year .The
above Hostel Fees payable are in favour of “Sinhgad Boys
Hostel” in case of Boys and “Sinhgad Girls Hostel”
in case of Girls . The Mess charges for Lunch & Dinners
works out to be upto Rs.1000/- per month paid yearly at the
Estate Office. The campus hosts separate Dining Rooms for Boys

of in take ?
Shivneri , Sindhudurg, Devgiri, Raigad and Brahmagiri are the
Hostels on Campus. The intake capacity for degree course is

?
The teaching and learning hours will be between 9.30am to 4.30am
on weekdays. The Office working hours is between 9.30am and
5.30pm on Weekdays.1st and 3rd Saturdays are off days for Office.The
students can participate in socio-cultural activities also.

in prospectus ?
Every teacher is given the academic time table of the Semester.
LCD, OHP are made use of during Group Discussions, Demonstrations,
Presentations. These are some of the ways to improve student
contact sessions beyond curriculum at Lonavala . We also have
Corporate Training Sessions by our Teachers . The detailed time
table will be noted down from 1st day upon the commencement
of the college. Even Semester / Odd Semester semesters are declared
in advance as per University of Pune .

r. What are the Activities at our
College ?
We Welcome one and all to see the activities at our College
Seminar Hall, Campus Auditorium , Sports Grounds and other centres
of Activities as and when Inter- Collegiate Events are conducted
as and when declared by our Head Office. |

s. How Evaluations are done ?
As per the practices directed by University of Pune, the College
conducts 2-3 Unit Tests within the Semester, where the internal
marks are noted. Besides the college also conducts Internal
Examinations. Monthly Attendance for Theory must be more than
75% for the student to be eligible for the External Examinations

| u.What are the salient

| v. What are the procedures
for Admission ?
Admission Procedure
1)Application for admission to the college has to be made on
the prescribed form purchased by all the students, including
those who were in the college during the previous year, so as
to reach the college office within 15 days from the declaration
of the 10 + 2 result of the Board Examination of the preceding
year or within one month from the date of commencement of the
First Term of the academic year, whichever is earlier. Applications
received after this date will not be considered. This should
be particularly noted by students who are already appearing
for CET Examinations of various states for Degrees other than
Hotel Management .
2) Admission is strictly given as per the merit and according
to the rules of University of Pune and D.T.E.,Government of
Maharashtra.
3) Overseas students should, however, apply for admission to
the college along with the provisional Eligibility certificate
issued by the Registrar University of Pune and NOC from the
Central Government.
4) A copy of the prospectus containing a form of application
for admission will be available in the college office.
5) Students coming from other colleges under several boards
and Universities should note the following procedure :
i) A student coming from the college affiliated to Pune University
can be admitted directly to the college. He will have to apply
to his previous college in the prescribed form for a Transference
Certificate after he joins this college. It is the responsibility
of the student to see that the T.C. is received by this college
from him /her before the end of 15 days from the commencement
of the Semester.
ii) A student coming from the other Universities in Maharashtra
has to obtain an Eligibility Certificate from University of
Pune. For this purpose, he has to apply to the Registrar, University
of Pune, in the prescribed form. He has to send the form directly
to University of Pune duly filled in along with the prescribed
fee and with the following certificates obtained from his /
her previous University / College. |

| f. Character Certificate
On receipt of the above, the University grants him/her an Eligibility
certificate which is to be submitted to the college.
i) A student coming from a University / Board outside Maharashtra
has to apply to the University of Pune for an Eligibility certificate
in the prescribed form available in the University office &
Migration Certificate from the University Previously attended
& other certificates mentioned in
(ii) above. It will be the responsibility of the student to
see that his Eligibility Certificate is received by the college
by the end of the first term.
iii) It should be noted that students who have passed any examination
other than H.S.C. examination of Maharashtra State Board, or
who are not coming from college affiliated to the University
of Pune, should first approach the Registrar of the University
of Pune for an Eligibility Certificate.
The application form of such student should be accompanied by
either provisional Eligibility Certificate or a final Eligibility
Certificate from the University.
iv) Student can be admitted only provisionally pending the receipt
of final Eligibility Certificate or T.C. as the case may be.
v) It should be noted that, all the information required in
the form of application for admission must be complete. Incomplete
forms are liable to be rejected.
vi) Foreign students should particularly note that, they will
not be admitted to the college unless they produce the following
documents:
a. A letter of Eligibility from the University of Pune.
b. Students visa and Passport |
